Monday Motivation - No matter what happens, I've got my own back.

Happy Monday Reader!

We're back for a new affirmation to power us through the week.

Does it seem like your life has been a bit out of control lately? It feels that way for me, and I've heard from a few other folks feeling the same way too.

I don't know if it's the full moon, the changing seasons, the shorter days, or something in the water, but sometimes it feels like nothing's going right.

Bills keep going up. Groceries are more expensive every time we go to the store. Maybe someone volun-told you to take on more at work, with no additional compensation. Maybe there are health issues in your household.

It can feel like the world is out to get you. Everything can seem out of your control.

And when it starts to feel like everything is happening TO you, we need to reassure ourselves we'll come through alright. We need to be our own best friend and ally. Let's work on that with this week's affirmation.

Say to yourself every day this week:

"No matter what happens, I've got my own back."

Sometimes you can't change your situation. Sometimes it can seem like there is never going to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and get through however you can.

But you are powerful. And you are resilient. And you can care for and be kind to yourself the same way you would with your best friend.

Because you are your best friend. You are literally the only person you can never, ever escape!

So commit to having your own back, even when it feels no one else does. Look for ways you can flip the negative scripts in your life, and give yourself agency over the situations that appear out of your control.

(One of my favorite examples from my life right now: instead of thinking "Ugh! I hate paying this bill!" try "By paying this bill I get to keep the lights on/water running/a roof over our heads.")

This week we are reclaiming our agency during times of chaos by repeating 21x every day "No matter what happens, I've got my own back."

As always, affirmations work best when you truly believe them. They need to resonate with you and feel achievable. So feel free to modify any I suggest, or develop entirely new ones!

Say them as long as you want. I'm sharing a new affirmation each week, but that doesn't mean you have to switch it up each week unless it feels right. You can add new ones as often as you want and have as many as you want. You can say a different affirmation every day, or at different times of the day. You choose!

I'd love to hear the impact it has! (But if you decide affirmations are not for you, click here to be removed from this weekly email.)

I hope this affirmation sets you up for a kick ass week and I'll see you next Monday for a new one to try!

Breathe deep. Drink plenty of water. You got this!

Hello Reader, Our affirmation stays the same this week: I love the person I am and the person I am becoming. The person you are today is very different than who you were a year ago, and you will look different a year from now too! Do you love the person you are becoming?? The good news is: you can always change it! Changing & improving ourselves is simple, but not easy. It's straightforward and simple to know what to do, but the how is not always clear. How do we set ourselves up for success?...

Hello Reader, February is the season of love with Valentine’s Day halfway through the month. So what better time to practice a self love affirmation?? 😉 I love the person I am and the person I am becoming. One of the things I think about a lot is how many of my beliefs about myself—about my limitations in particular—were learned. I wasn’t born hating specific things about my body or my appearance. I wasn’t born thinking I needed to change certain aspects of my personality in order to be loved...
