Monday Motivation - The best system is the one that works for me.

Happy Monday Reader!

We're back for a new affirmation to power us through the week.

This is a concept I've been thinking about a lot lately. I've used it multiple times in my own life, and would love everyone I ever coach to believe this as well:

"The best system is the one that works for me."

There are so many time management systems out there. And the internet is filled with ads for people selling you their perfect system that will solve all your problems. I'm happy they found a system that works for them! But in my own life & experience, I've found most "systems" to be too rigid.

Systems are very strict on what counts as "success" and "failure," and most of us don't need any more of that pressure in our lives! Media already presents us with tons of perfect images that we can't help but compare ourselves to...and inevitably come up short.

So if you've tried a system in the past, or are even in one now, that isn't easy for you to use, that makes you feel like a failure...perhaps you aren't the problem.

Don't beat yourself up for not doing something the "right" or "best" way. When we do that to ourselves, it can make it harder to achieve the outcome we really want. Guilt or shame or self recrimination gets in the way.

So this week, remind yourself that it doesn't always matter *how* something gets done, just that it gets done.

It can be messy.

It can be less personal (like texting instead of calling).

It can be a week later than you intended.

But DONE is better than PERFECT.

Let's stop blaming ourselves for systems that aren't designed for us this week by repeating 21x every day "The best system is the one that works for me."

As always, affirmations work best when you truly believe them. They need to resonate with you and feel achievable. So feel free to modify any I suggest, or develop entirely new ones!

Say them as long as you want. I'm sharing a new affirmation each week, but that doesn't mean you have to switch it up each week unless it feels right. You can add new ones as often as you want and have as many as you want. You can say a different affirmation every day, or at different times of the day. You choose!

I'd love to hear the impact it has! (But if you decide affirmations are not for you, click here to be removed from this weekly email.)

I hope this affirmation sets you up for a kick ass week and I'll see you next Monday for a new one to try!

Breathe deep. Drink plenty of water. You got this!

Happy Monday Reader! Last week I realized something that I'd rather hide from you. It's one of my biggest fears, and I can barely believe I am going to write it out in an email, sent via the internet, which has the potential to be around forever. But here goes. I realized I'm a hypocrite. Ugh, I hate typing that out! I try my hardest to stay vigilant against this tendency, because it's one of the things I judge the most in others. But suddenly I realized that in all the times I internally...

Happy Monday Reader! Again and again, women tell me they feel guilty for how they spent their time. Time-related guilt typically comes up when we are doing one thing but worry we should be doing something else, whether that was spending time with family, doing maintenance around the house, or especially when we take time for ourselves. If you identify with this struggle, this week's affirmation will help! "I can be trusted to make the right decision on how to spend my time." When our...
