Monday Motivation - I forgive myself for past mistakes & recommit to my goals because I am in this for the long haul.

Happy Monday Reader!

How would it feel to work fewer hours in your biz this year (without sacrificing any income!) and get back to loving your business and life again? Schedule a free chat to see how I can help!

It's the 2nd Monday of the new quarter and a great time to do a check in!

Set aside some time this week or next to review your goals & progress so far this year. Make any adjustments you need, then we're going to recommit with today's affirmation:

"I forgive myself for past mistakes & recommit to my goals because I am in this for the long haul."

No, the 2nd week of April is not too late to do some quarterly or even yearly planning! Taking time to evaluate is never a bad decision.

Plus, it can even be as simple as my 3 favorite questions:

  1. What went well last quarter?
  2. What didn't work?
  3. What will I do differently going forward?

I bet you could answer those questions in less than 30 min, so no excuses not to do some reflecting this week!

You know I'm also a fan of reminding ourselves that small progress is still progress.

And you know that growth isn't a straight line either!

When we have big, hairy, audacious goals (BHAG) in mind for our business...it can be a bit intimidating to attempt them. Somedays they inspire us and keep us motivated. Other times they seem too far away & impossible to reach.

And if we mess up or stop pursuing them, it can feel easier to just give up.

But a new quarter is an excellent time to decide if the goal is worth it, and recommit if so. (There's absolutely no shame in deciding it's not, BTW. And it's better to realize that in Q2 than Q4 so you don't waste any more time pursuing the wrong fit!)

The path of entrepreneurship is long and winding, frequently obscure and even lonely. But you started your business for a reason and you are not ready to give up.

Let's use this week's affirmation to give ourselves grace for past screw ups, and reconnect to our goals by repeating 21x every day:

"I forgive myself for past mistakes & recommit to my goals because I am in this for the long haul."

Because perfection is unattainable, and small progress is still progress. ❤️

As always, affirmations work best when you truly believe them. They need to resonate with you and feel achievable. So feel free to modify any I suggest, or develop entirely new ones!

Say them as long as you want. I'm sharing a new affirmation each week, but that doesn't mean you have to switch it up each week unless it feels right. You can add new ones as often as you want and have as many as you want. You can say a different affirmation every day, or at different times of the day. You choose!

I'd love to hear the impact it has! (But if you decide affirmations are not for you, click here to be removed from this weekly email.)

I hope this affirmation sets you up for a kick ass week and I'll see you next Monday for a new one to try!

Happy Monday Reader! Do you have a scarcity or an abundance mindset? If you're like me, the answer may change depending on the week! (Or even the hour some days.) When we have a scarcity mindset we operate our business from fear. We worry new clients or opportunities won't show up. That our past or current success was a fluke. That it can all disappear without notice. TBH, being in scarcity mindset sucks. And we might not feel like we can change it. We might believe living with scarcity is...

Happy Monday Reader! When I was a kid, we only listened to country music on the radio. I have extensive knowledge of 90s country--Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Reba McEntire, you name it! There are so many songs I don't even remember I know all the words to...until they're coming out of my mouth as I sing along! But there's one song that is practically an anthem for my life. And not necessarily in a good way! 😅 Alabama's song "I'm in a Hurry" is referenced weekly in my house! Because I "rush &...
