Happy Monday Reader!
We're in the month of love now, so for February our affirmations will be themed around love, connection, and relationships!
In order to keep our relationships strong, it's vital to spend time, energy, and attention on them. We're all so busy, and we have to be intentional about carving out time for people that we don't see by default every day.
If you live your life on autopilot, just focused on making it through another day, you can wake up decades later and regret all the time you missed.
Today's affirmation will remind us that it's worthy and safe to prioritize relationships:
"My relationships are important and I prioritize time for meaningful interactions."
Giving someone our undivided attention is powerful.
We're more connected than ever thanks to the internet, social platforms, and cellphones...and yet loneliness is reaching epidemic proportions. According to PBS.org in 2023:
When I do my time assessment with potential clients, time spent with friends is consistently one of the lowest ranked areas. And it breaks my heart. (I even briefly considered starting a rent-a-friend service to provide time & undivided attention to lonely people!)
There is just something about being in person, face to face with another human that cannot quite be replicated with all our fancy video call technology. It's still a great tool for long distance, to be clear! But having close, local connections is necessary.
If making new friends seems overwhelming, I get it. It is hard! So instead, let's start small this week.
Send a quick message to someone you haven't talked to in a while (email and text are fine for this!). Even if it's been years of radio silence, I bet they'll be thrilled you reached out.
Set up a phone call or coffee date to catch up with someone local.
Write a "thinking of you" or "just for fun" card & mail it.
Smile at a stranger.
Give a compliment to someone at the store.
Send your love and care out into the world, and it will come back to you. Giving it away can make you feel better even on the worst of days.
We are social creatures by nature and nurture, and so we repeat to ourselves 21x every day this week:
"My relationships are important and I prioritize time for meaningful interactions."
What's your most common time management struggle...and why is it procrastination??
In this video I discuss why we do it, and my top practical tips to Prevent Procrastination!
As always, affirmations work best when you truly believe them. They need to resonate with you and feel achievable. So feel free to modify any I suggest, or develop entirely new ones!
Say them as long as you want. I'm sharing a new affirmation each week, but that doesn't mean you have to switch it up each week unless it feels right. You can add new ones as often as you want and have as many as you want. You can say a different affirmation every day, or at different times of the day. You choose!
I'd love to hear the impact it has! (But if you decide affirmations are not for you, click here to be removed from this weekly email.)
I hope this affirmation sets you up for a kick ass week and I'll see you next Monday for a new one to try!

Time is the single most valuable thing we have. I help busy business owners get out of overwhelm to work fewer hours in their business (without sacrificing income!) so they can get back to enjoying their business and their life again.
Hello Reader, Our affirmation stays the same again this week: Today I bid farewell to old habits and welcome positive change to my life. And today you can download two coloring pages with our affirmation on them! Download the coloring pages I prefer simple coloring pages with big sections so I can really let loose with my colored pencils to make big sweeping strokes. But many of my friends enjoy tiny, detailed work, so I accommodate both styles with these coloring pages. Print one or both...
Hello Reader, Our affirmation stays the same this week: Today I bid farewell to old habits and welcome positive change to my life. But today you can listen to and/or watch me say our affirmation 21 times! While I am not a huge video or podcast fan--I find it hard to focus on audio only, and I'm a super fast reader so I always prefer text--there are a lot of others out there who are. And since my goal this year is to experiment with different ways to practice our affirmation, an audio version...
Hello Reader, Ahhhhhh, there's nothing like the new year for...procrastination?? Procrastination is totally normal and human, and it happens to all of us. I just happen to have a lot more of it lately than I'm used to. I'm currently writing this at the last minute, on Sunday afternoon while in the midwest we are in the middle of Snow-Pocalypse 2024! We got a lovely layer of ice yesterday, and we're expected to get almost a foot of snow on top of that. Hooray. My husband's in-service day has...
