Happy Monday Reader! How are things going for you? For me? I was on the struggle bus last week! Most of my client contracts are ending this month, and my pipeline for possible new clients is pretty empty. That's a terrifying place for a business owner to be! This really got into my head, and kicked up a lot of doubt and limiting beliefs. Ah, those old familiar frenemies! Due to my empty pipeline, I felt like no one was interested in my business or my coaching services. Which made it seem like a waste of time and effort to work in my business, and so I just....didn't. After a week of that though, even I was fed up with my "woe is me" attitude! So I went back to a coaching course I haven't used in half a year or more, and it turned out going back to basics was exactly what I needed. "People want what I have to offer." The video lesson I chose to watch was on belief triad: belief in myself, my customer, and my product. I was reminded of my belief in all of these things because these clients that are wrapping up with me? They've all seen results. I've gotten amazing feedback & testimonials from them. I've watched their growth every week with my own eyes. And if I've already helped at least 5 people improve their relationship to time management...in a city the size of Kansas City there have to be at least 10 more who want my help! My brain wanted to focus on the scary part--the empty pipeline. It wanted to keep me safe by keeping me paralyzed & afraid to ask people for help, or to hire me. But by looking at the facts--the fact of my clients' success & support--I was able to see how my brain was lying to me. And that's a powerful thing. If you own a business, you are in sales. (And these days, even being an employee comes with some sales--like when you ask for a raise or a promotion!) And sales may not come naturally to you. It certainly doesn't to me. But this week we're going back to a sales basic: believing in ourselves, our clients, and our products enough to know there are at least 10 people out there who want--possibly even need--what you have to offer. Help yourself feel confident about that by repeating 21x/day this week: "People want what I have to offer." ❤️ P.S. Enjoy getting these weekly emails? Share the love by forwarding this to a friend! As always, affirmations work best when you truly believe them. They need to resonate with you and feel achievable. So feel free to modify any I suggest, or develop entirely new ones! Say them as long as you want. I'm sharing a new affirmation each week, but that doesn't mean you have to switch it up each week unless it feels right. You can add new ones as often as you want and have as many as you want. You can say a different affirmation every day, or at different times of the day. You choose! I'd love to hear the impact it has! (But if you decide affirmations are not for you, click here to be removed from this weekly email.) I hope this affirmation sets you up for a kick ass week and I'll see you next Monday for a new one to try! Ready to make time for great things in 2024? I have 1-1 coaching spots available to teach you how to put your limited time, energy, & attention to the work that moves the needle in just 1 hour a week. Hit reply or pick a time on my calendar here to learn more. I always have time for you. ❤️ -- Jen |
Time is the single most valuable thing we have. I help busy business owners get out of overwhelm to work fewer hours in their business (without sacrificing income!) so they can get back to enjoying their business and their life again.
Hello Reader, It's the countdown to the end of the year. In my social feeds I am bombarded with two conflicting messages: the entrepreneurship crowd is pushing for finishing 2024 strong and knocking our goals out of the park. While the more spiritual or self help accounts are usually pointing out that nature slows down in the winter, so we can too, and not feel guilty about hustling less. This year, I am definitely in that latter camp! I'm heavily affected by the shorter days & colder...
Hello Reader, Hooray, we survived Thanksgiving and we made it to December! But also? Yikes, because that means the end of 2024 is almost here, as well as the winter gift-giving holidays. Traditionally, much of the time and labor that goes into "The Holiday Season" is dumped on women, which makes it easy to get stressed and overwhelmed by a supposedly enjoyable holiday. And I don't know about you, but that makes my inner Grinch come out & want to cancel all holidays forever. Because what’s...
Hello Reader, Thanksgiving is coming up this week here in the ol’ U.S. of A., a holiday that is centered around tons of food, family, and gratitude. And it’s the first major holiday after our latest presidential election so it’s very possible things may get…awkward…over the dinner table. Because if your family is anything like mine, there’s always at least one person who wants to talk politics. And it’s not usually a feel-good time when that starts. I'm allowed to both love and disagree with...
